2 women killed in head-on collision

ENFIELD, Conn. (WTNH/AP) — Police say two women are dead after a head-on car crash in Enfield.

Officials say the two cars crashed near Route 5 and Broadleaf Lane on Sunday night.

Firefighters had to free both drivers, Laurie Angilly, 58, of Enfield and Davetta Curtiss, 76, of Suffield, from their vehicles. The women were taken to area hospitals, where they were pronounced dead.

The crash is under investigation.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to call the Enfield Police Department Traffic Division at (860) 763-6400 Ext 8920.
