ROCKY HILL, Conn. (WTNH) -- A big jackpot winner has claimed their millions of dollars in lottery winnings.

Noel and Fredda Peel of Seymour had the winning ticket from the June 23rd Powerball drawing and won the $60 million jackpot.

The Quick Pick ticket was sold at John's Deli in Seymour.

"You come in here at 4:15 in the morning, the coffee is on, you can have a bacon and egg to go," said John's Deli regular Al Yagovane.

John's Deli, owned by Man Wong, has been an institution in the valley for 20 years.

"Hard workers, there's no frills, there's no frills, but you don't need it," Yagovane said.

Who would have ever guessed that a good sandwich could make you a millionaire?

"And John's Deli has been great! Best place to get a bacon egg and cheese," Noel joked. "Pays real well!"

Connecticut's second Seymour Powerball winners were announced Tuesday at lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill.  For years, Noel has come to John's Deli to get a sandwich and a cup of Joe, but something moved him to spend a few extra bucks.

"I rarely if ever play it, the lotto, but I bought four tickets," he said.

Noel checked the machine, but when it said he was winner, he didn't believe it. So he checked another machine, and he still didn't believe it. Then he had his brother and wife call lottery officials.

"What is a person to do," Fredda Peel asked. "You're in shock. We had no clue how much we won."

A $2.26 sandwich led to $60 million, or $27 million for the quick payout.

Mr. Wong he got a $100,000 payout for selling the ticket.

This is the second time someone from Seymour has won the Powerball jackpot; Christopher Ewen won $59 million back in 2005.

On May 3 someone won $1000 a day, but so far no one has come forward to claim the prize.
