MARLBOROUGH, Conn. (AP) — A group of Connecticut firefighters is home after spending much of August battling wildfires in Montana.

The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection says the 20-member crew was due to arrive back in Connecticut early Saturday morning.

They traveled west on Aug. 16 to assist the U.S. Forest Service.

Several wildfires continue to burn more than 100 square miles across Montana.

The crew includes 12 state workers and eight private firefighters.
