PLAINVILLE, Conn. (WTNH) -- After a rigorous 22 hours search, police were able to find a man considered to be armed and dangerous in the woods near his Plainville house.

Lawrence Bald Jr. was located in a heavily wooded area near his home. With the help of the Plainville Fire Department, as well as Bristol and Farmington police, Bald was found semi-conscious in a thick brush around 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Firefighters had to used a chain saw to extract Bald from the brush.

A search for Bald was underway Thursday night when his wife called police saying he threatened her and had a gun. Officers were able to get his wife safely out of the house, but Bald escaped through a backdoor.

Bald, who is 46-years-old, had been arrested at least once before for domestic violence.

After he was extracted, he was transported to The Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain.

He will be charged with first degree reckless endangerment, second degree threatening, and second degree breach of peace when he is released from the hospital.

He will be held on $250,000 bond.
