A collision in Bristol ended with a car careening off the road and smashing into a restaurant on Sunday morning.

Police said that two cars collided on Farmington Avenue in Bristol when the driver of one of the cars pulled out from a stop sign and smashed into the other.

Bristol native Paul Butler, 67, pulled out from the stop sign. He collided with Sharon Pipke, 66, also of Bristol.

Pipke’s car then jumped over a curb and smashed into the Broaster House Restaurant on Farmington Avenue.

The restaurant was not open at the time, and no one was inside. The store front was damaged as a result of the accident.

Pipke was taken to Bristol Hospital with a minor head injury.

Butler reported no injuries and was driven from the scene.
