NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) -- Central Connecticut State University says campus police have arrested a suspect accused of phoning in a threat to kill his ex-girlfriend, her family and others.
University Spokesman Mark McLaughlin said Wednesday that Rufino Cotto Martinez was charged with threatening and an act of terrorism.
McLaughlin said the 47-year-old Martinez was arrested in Willimantic. No other details were provided.
Campus police had distributed a photograph of Martinez with a request to be notified if he was seen on campus. His ex-girlfriend is a contract employee at the university.
Police say he was the subject of a campus alert for a threat last year.
It was not known if Martinez is represented by a lawyer.
The university had urged people to stay indoors after campus police received a call threatening to kill people
