HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - A Connecticut author is kicking off a campaign to have children, parents and teachers donate books to other young students in the state.
The "Books on the Bus" tour by author Ron Roy is scheduled to begin Tuesday as he picks up books at Braeburn Elementary in West Hartford and drops them off at Alfred E. Burr School in Hartford.
Later this week he plans to deliver books from Darien and Glastonbury to schools in Bridgeport and Willimantic.
Roy is a Hartford native who taught in Connecticut elementary schools for 10 years before becoming a children's author. He is best known for the "A to Z Mysteries" book series.
