West Hartford, Conn. (WTNH) - Three children are expected to be fine after a carbon monoxide scare in their home early Monday.
Firefighters were called to the home on Forest Hills Drive a little before 4:00 a.m. when the residents reported a strong smell coming from the basement.
Everyone who was in the home was able to get out on their own.
The cause was a malfunctioning oil fired boiler that was putting out high levels of carbon monoxide. The three children were treated by fire personnel on scene and then transported to Connecticut Children's Medical Center.
The boiler was shut down and the fumes were cleared out of the home.
Battalion Chief Matt Stuart tells News 8 the kids will be fine.
