DUMMER, N.H. (AP) — New Hampshire State Police say a 40-year-old man has died in an SUV crash in the northern part of the state.

Police said Steven Lambert of Manchester, Conn., failed to negotiate a curve on Route 16 in Dummer when he drove off the road and collided with several trees late Thursday.

Police said Lambert, a former resident of Berlin, N.H., suffered head and chest trauma. He died at the scene.

A preliminary assessment indicates alcohol and speed may have contributed to the crash.
