Conn. school jazz group heads for London Olympics

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — A Hartford high school jazz group is headed to London to perform at the Olympics.

The Real Ambassadors , a 14-member high school jazz group, has been invited to perform at the games.

Gov. Dannel P. Malloy is scheduled to visit the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts on Monday to give the group a send-off at one of their final rehearsals before it leaves for London.

The rehearsal is open to the public and the school is asking for a $10 donation from those attending to help cover the cost of the trip.

The choir will perform two 40-minute sessions on the main bandstand at Olympic Park on July 31.
