Hartford, Conn. (WTNH) - Hartford's DISH restaurant hosted its own Academy Awards celebration to raise money for AIDS research.

It's one of only about 20 events in the country allowed to use the word "Oscars" in the title.

"It's just growing, it's incredible," said John Merz of CT Aids Resource Coalition. "We bumped up the numbers from last year [and] we sold out again this year."

Last year, the event raised $30,000 and they are hoping to top it with tonight's event.
