Granby, Conn. (WTNH) - A Granby police captain is facing federal child porn charges after police found as many as 100,000 images and videos on his computers.

David Bourque, 50, of West Suffield, has been charged with possession of child pornography.

An undercover officer logged into a file sharing program and downloaded several images of child porn from an account maintained by Bourque. Police then secured a search warrant and found thousands of child porn images and videos on computers at his home and office.

After posting a $150,000 bond, Bourque returned to the hospital where he is being treated for an unspecified illness. Once he is released from the hospital, Bourque will have several conditions of release including mental health counseling, no internet access and no unsupervised contact with children.

We are still waiting on a statement from the Granby Police Department.
