East Hartford, Conn. (WTNH) - Police have identified the man killed in a car vs. bicycle crash on Monday.

Just before 6:30pm, Daniel Schultz, 40, was riding his bike on Burnside Avenue when he was hit by a white Ford Expedition, driven by Tracy Hudson.

The two vehicles were heading in opposite directions, but in the same lane.

Schultz's bike was pulling a trailer, but there was nothing inside.

After the collision, Schultz was transported to Hartford Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The accident remains under investigation.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or with information related to this case is asked to call the East Hartford Police Department at 860-528-4401 or the East Hartford Police Confidential Tip Line at 860-289-9134.
