Elderly woman dies in East Granby car crash

East Granby, Conn. (WTNH) - An elderly woman was killed in a single-car crash in East Granby Tuesday.

The accident happened just after 11 a.m., on Route 20, just west of Old Road.

Winifred Duncan, 76, of 91 North Granby Rd., was traveling east on Route 20, in her 2008 Ford Taurus when she lost control of the vehicle.

The Taurus veered across the westbound lane where it struck a wooden post and a utility post, before finally striking a tree.

Duncan was taken to Hartford Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
