Farmington, Conn (WTNH) - A dance teacher who co-owns a studio in Farmington is under arrest after police say he had a sexual relationship with one of his underage students.
As parents pick up their children at Dancescapes in Farmington, word begins to spread. The teacher and co-owner, Jeffery Sepa has been arrested on sexual assault charges.
According to police, the victim is a minor, and a long-time dance student, who was with Sepa for more than ten years.
The charges are two counts of second degree sexual assault. Police say they began their investigation about a month ago, when the victim told friends about the sexual relationship. Police say while the alleged sexual encounters happened at the dance studios, at this point they do not believe any other students are involved, but they are still investigating.
People inside the studio say they plan on keeping it open. Sepa will be arraigned on Tuesday March 8th.
