HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — State and city officials are expected to announce that state grant funds are coming to help a needy Hartford neighborhood.
A news conference is planned for Tuesday to announce the award, based on an application submitted by the Upper Albany Neighborhood Revitalization Zone, with help from the city of Hartford.
State Reps. Matthew Ritter and Douglas McCrory, both Hartford Democrats, will join Hartford Mayor Pedro Segarra and Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Catherine Smith, for the announcement. University of Hartford President Walter Harrison is also expected to be on hand.
The event will be held on Homestead Avenue, the site of where three properties are targeted for rehabilitation.
