CANTON, Conn. (WTNH) --  Canton fire and police units say a faulty floor washer was the cause of a gas leak at the   ShopRite  supermarket on Route 44.

Authorities were notified just before 6:30 a.m. The leak was inside the story, which was not open to customers at the time.

The leak was very minor. It was caused by a  leaking propane powered commercial floor washer.

Southbury's fire department was initially called in to assist Canton units.
