Hartford (WTNH) - The Hartford Police Department is calling a recent gun buy back program a success with more than 75 guns being turned in.

On December 5th, folks were given a gift card if they turned in a gun.

“This is a great community program that provided an opportunity for people to dispose of unwanted firearms in a safe manner," said Hartford Police Chief Daryl Roberts.

The guns will be processed to make sure they were not used in a crime before they are destroyed.
