HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH)-- Hartford police are investigating a shooting, involving an officer early Sunday morning.

Police say Officer Israel Mantilla just finished private duty detail on New Park Avenue, when he responded to a report on Chadwick Street.

Mantilla was trying to find a suspect from a street robbery, who had a gun. When Mantilla found the suspect, he chased him on foot and then fired a single shot to the man's ankle.

The man was treated and released from Hartford Hospital.

The incident is still under investigation.
