East Granby, Conn. (WTNH) - Dozens of Connecticut families who had been waiting for their heroes to return from overseas experienced a joyful reunion Monday.

Members of the Air National Guard's 103rd Civil Engineers Squadron returned to the National Guard Air Base in East Granby, after a seven-month deployment in Afghanistan.

"It's great, ah, I can't even describe it," said Staff Sgt. Justin Toro. "I've been waiting for this day for along time...it's crazy. You can tell she's been looking forward to it."

Governor Dannel Malloy and Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman were also there to welcome home the troops.
