EAST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- If you were in the Hartford area Wednesday afternoon you may have noticed something odd in the sky: a Boeing 747.

The plane was equipped with engines made by Pratt & Whitney.

The 747 flew around 1,000 feet over East Hartford and Middletown so that Pratt & Whitney workers could see the new engine in action.

Pratt & Whitney boasts that the PW1200G engine has low fuel-consumption, it's quiet, and it's a high-performance engine.
