HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — The Mark Twain House in Hartford has been voted a favorite tourism destination in Connecticut by residents and visitors in the latest round of a promotional campaign.

Gov. Dannel Malloy announced the winner Thursday of the Fan-Favorite "Still Revolutionary" tourism campaign. Twain's house will be featured in an online documentary video on the state's social media channels this fall.

Officials say Twain's house received the most votes among a group of 10 destinations on Connecticut's Facebook and Twitter pages. Popular tourism destinations such as Mystic and Essex Steam train were not eligible to become the Fan-Favorite because they were featured in a spring advertising campaign.

The two-year, $27 million marketing initiative is intended to boost tourism by drawing attention to the state's role in the Revolutionary War and Industrial Revolution.
