Hartford (AP) - A former regional manager with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. who lives in Connecticut has pleaded guilty to stealing government funds.

The charge against 65-year-old Brian McClelland of Somers involves $137,000 in extra retirement benefits he got but didn't deserve.

Prosecutors say McClelland lied about his military service and presented fake documents to support a higher retirement benefit based on military service.

McClelland is to be sentenced on Sept. 17 and could face up to 18 months in prison.
