Enfield (WTNH) - A possible connection may be made between the discovery of a body in Enfield today and a car crash that occurred just a couple of months ago.
An employee at Mass Mutual found a body, Thursday morning, after investigating a foul smell. The case was turned over to the State Police who were investigating the disappearance of 28-year-old Jody King who has been missing since April. His wife Casey talked to News Channel 8 last month about the last time she talked to her husband.
"I talked to him at 6:30 p.m., and he said he got off work early and he had been at the Sports Haven Bar in New Haven having some drinks with a coworker," she said.
His car was found later that night crashed and abandoned by the side of I-91 in Enfield. His clothes and wallet were found later by police nearby.
"My biggest fear is that he was hurt or disoriented and sought shelter that night and didn't come out and we haven't located him yet," said Casey.
The body was found on Mass Mutual property and the accident happened about 500 yards away on the highway. And while State Police have been called in to investigate, they have not made a positive identification on the body.
Missing posters still hang on the light post near the highway and people in the area have been on the lookout for King.
"I have three children who need their father," said Casey. "So whatever I have to do, I am going to do until I can't do it anymore."
State Police say they are still waiting for the autopsy to be performed. They are calling the death untimely and are not connecting it to the missing man at this time.
