Sparkler seriously injures child

    Hartford (WTNH) - A child was seriously injured after waving around a sparkler on 4th of July.

    Police say at around 8:30 p.m., Saturday, on Broadview Terrace a boy was waving around a sparkler under the supervision of his uncle.

    The sparkler somehow set his clothes on fire burning him.

    He suffered second and third degree burns over 15 percent of his body.

    He was flown by Lifestar to Shriner's Hospital in Boston.
