Hartford (WTNH) - Suspicious packages placed outside of 1 Main Street in Hartford, a gynecology facility that performs abortions, forced staff to evacuate the building Thursday around 9 a.m.
Police closed down Jefferson Street between Hudson and Main Street after an employee of the facility called in a report that unexpected packages were placed at odd locations in the front and rear of the building. The packages were found to be non-threatening and staff were able to return to work by 10:20 a.m.
According to the Hartford GYN's Web site, abortions are performed at the facility, making it an active location for pro-life protesters.
Police are now investigating if the packages were placed in those locations as a hoax to stop work at the facility.
