MARLBOROUGH, Conn. (WTNH) -- A dog was shot when bullets were fired into a home in Marlborough Monday night, police said.
The incident happened around 9 p.m. at a home on Portland Rd.
According to police, Monday night a man called police to report that shots had been fired into his home.
Police said the man lives in the residence with his girlfriend and they were both home at the time of the incident.
After hearing the gunshots, the couple discovered that the sliding glass door window was shattered and that their dog had been shot.
The dog was taken to an area veterinarian for treatment.
The dog's condition is unknown.
Police found additional shell casings outside the home.
The incident is being investigated.
