New Britain, Conn. (WTNH) - Fire investigators in New Britain are checking out a fire at an old florist shop that they say looks suspicious.
The fire broke out at an old flower shop at 5 Belden Street just after noon on Friday.
Both the shop and the home it was attached to were empty.
When firefighters got there they found a natural gas leak in the back of the building.
They are still checking it out, but they say the fire looks suspicious.
"We're going to begin our investigation as soon as the remainder of the fire is extinguished, but that amount of fire, at this time of day, highly suspicious," said firefighter Donald King.
No one was hurt in the incident.
