HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- Nearly 1,400 CL&P customers were without air conditioning Thursday morning.

Officials say an equipment issue on Wethersfield Avenue was to blame for the 1,369 reported outages.

The power went off around 5:15 a.m. and it was restored nearly 4 hours later.

Hartford was under a heat advisory throughout Thursday, and it was the second day in a row where the temperatures were expected to reach 90 degrees.

Several cooling centers were opened in Hartford to battle the heat. Click here to learn more.
