Tree cutting accident sends elderly man to hospital

SIMSBURY, Conn. (WTNH) -- An elderly man is in critical condition after a tree fell on top of him at his home in Simsbury Tuesday.

The accident occurred at 14 Crane Place.

Upon arrival, police found the man, 73-year-old George "Craig" Roselli, lying in the driveway in critical condition.

Emergency personnel administered first aid and Roselli was taken to St. Francis Hospital via Lifestar.

Police said Roselli was walking back to his home, in his driveway, when the accident took place.

The tree was being cut down by a private contractor.

The accident remains under investigation.
