Two bodies found in Southington home

SOUTHINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police are investigating after two bodies were found inside a Southington house.

Police were called to the home, located at 27 Cedar Drive, around 3:00 Wednesday afternoon to do a welfare check. Someone noticed newspapers piling up outside and called police.

Upon arrival, officers found the exterior of the home to be secure.

Southington Fire Department was called to the scene to assist officers with gaining entry into the home.

Once inside the home, police found two deceased individuals, one male and one female.

Firefighters tested the interior of the house and did not find any elevated levels of carbon monoxide or other hazardous gases, police said.

Police have not yet positively identified the individuals.
