Water main break in New Britain

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WTNH) -- Multiple apartment buildings were affected by a water main break in New Britain this morning, officials said.

The main broke on Martin Luther King Drive, a section of Route 71.

According to the New Britain Water Company, at least two large apartment buildings were affected, which they estimated could mean 100 to 200 people without water.

At this time, Route 71 is closed between Stanley St. and Winter St.

Officials are estimating recovery to take between 8-10 hours.
