WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- A water main break was reported on Prospect St. in West Hartford Wednesday.
The Metropolitan District Commission said it is an 8' water main that was built in 1964.
Officials said it was shut down on Kane St. to 266 Prospect. The road is shut down to Park Rd.
Shut down began around 9:40 a.m.
According to MDC officials, this is a concrete surface road and the cold weather will make it longer to repair, they are anticipating 6-8 hours.
More than a dozen businesses were shut down as a result of the break.
