Winterfest open for the season in Bushnell Park

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- A holiday tradition has began in Hartford again. Winterfest opened for the season last night in Bushnell Park.

Visitors got a chance to ride the carousel and the train, and even take pictures with Santa. Last year 50 thousand people enjoyed the winter festivities. It's hoped that number will be even greater this year.

"Ice skating, and we have the kids all over the park and we have been taking pictures, with the governor, and that is about it," says Andre Vial.

Winterfest runs through January 21st.The ice rink is open until 9 P.M. on Fridays and Saturdays and 8 P.M. the rest of the week.
