Woman charged for prescription fraud

GLASTONBURY, Conn. (WTNH) -- An East Hartford woman turned herself in to police and was charged for illegal possession of a controlled substance.

28-year-old Tracy Lamothe surrendered herself at the police station Tuesday morning and was arrested in regards to an arrest warrant.

A complaint was made from a local physician's office that fraudulent prescriptions were being called into pharmacies, and it was determined in August 2012 that Lamothe fraudulently called in two different prescription medications, police said.

Lamothe was charged with two counts of illegal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of obtaining a prescription by fraud.

Lamothe is set to appear in court Oct 24 and is being held on a $5,000 bond.
