SUFFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) --A 65-year-old woman has died after being struck by a vehicle in Suffield.
Patricia Handler was crossing Bridge Street towards Maple Court when she was struck by a 2002 Dodge Durango traveling eastbound. The accident happened shortly after 4:30 p.m. on April 5.
Handler was pronounced dead at Bay State Medical Center.
Due to the severity of the collision, the North Central Municipal accident reconstruction squad was called in to investigate.
The driver of the Durango has been identified as Christine Swanson, 49, of East Hartford. The extent of her injuries has not been released.
Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to call Sgt. Ryan Burrell of the Suffield Police Department at 860-668-3870.
The investigation is ongoing.
