Berlin (WTNH) - Berlin Police are asking the public's help in locating a woman that has been missing for a little over a week.

Berlin Police say Carrie Ann Monroe, 26, was last seen around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20th at the Comfort Motel on Berlin Turnpike.

She was staying there with her boyfriend, who is also the father of her two-year-old son. He is in State Police custody for unrelated charges at this time.

Meanwhile, Berlin Police are trying to piece together where Carrie Ann may have gone.

"We're basically trying to contact other family members, friends, associates and parties she's been in contact with and as of yet we haven't talked to anyone who has spoken with her since the 20th," said Sgt. John McCormack of the Berlin Police Dept.

Carrie Ann's father, Bob  Monroe, said he is hoping that his daughter is okay and that reaches out to someone to tell them that.

"We're just hoping that Carrie sees this on the news and does make phone calls to call somebody and just to let us know that she is okay or needs help or whatever; just call," said Bob. "The father had the baby for 5-6 days and the mother was among the missing then; we had no idea that this was happening."

Bob said Carrie Ann hasn't been spending much time around her family recently yet he believes this kind of disappearance is highly unusual.

"She's gone for a couple of days at one point without notifying anybody but she has never really gone for this long amount of time," said Bob.

Monroe was last seen wearing a black waist-length jacket, blue jeans and black sneakers with some type of red design. She is approximately 5'2", 120 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with any information regarding Monroe's disappearance is requested to call the Berlin Police Detective Division at 860-828-7080.
