REDDING, Conn. (WTNH) -- Couples trying to have a baby could benefit from fertile yoga classes.
"In this moment, you're doing everything that you need to nourish the body," said Lisa Rosenthal.
A calming voice and soothing music does more than the body good at Blackbird Yoga Studio.
"Walking into Fertile Yoga is a wonderful way to enhance your self confidence, your self worth, your ability to be present in your body and your own heart and your own breath. It is not a guarantee of getting pregnant. It is a guarantee of a better quality of life and managing the process of fertility treatment," said Rosenthal.
Fertile Yoga was founded by Lisa Rosenthal, who battled her own issues of conceiving.
"The poses are designed specifically to still the reproductive organs, bring blood flow but also to keep them still," said Rosenthal. "Fertile Yoga is specifically designed for men and women who are in treatment or who are already suspecting that they have, are going to have a problem conceiving."
She teamed up with Reproductive Medicine Associates of Connecticut which offers the class for free to patients like Michelle Teplitz.
"I liked yoga before so I said whatever can help me get pregnant, I'll do it," said Teplitz.
Experts agree infertility can cause stress.
"It allowed me to come and speak my mind, talk about everything that I was going through, all my fears, everything I was scared of and having a hard time with and it allowed me to just get all that out," said Teplitz.
After two years of trying and one cycle of Invitro-fertilization, it led to the birth of her daughter Amalya.
"I was lucky," said Teplitz.
This is about feeling whole and complete during an anxious and difficult time.
"Women and men who are trying to become pregnant often have feelings of being damaged and less than and this reestablishes that we are real people, we're whole people," said Rosenthal.
There's no guarantee but it opens up the possibility of things to happen.
"Sometimes it's when you let go of clutching at something that it comes to you," said Rosenthal.
Michelle's treatment also included acupuncture.
