News 8 blood drive in Westbrook today

Westbrook, Conn. (WTNH) - The Red Cross and News 8 are holding a blood drive today at the Westbrook Elks Lodge, and your donation is needed.

Blood donations typically fall during the summer months. From 10:00 a.m. until 7:15 p.m. today you can help boost Connecticut's blood supply by donating a pint.

Donors of all blood types are welcome, but those with Type O-negative or Type B-negative are especially needed.

After donating, people can feast on a barbecue cooked by the Elks.

The Elks lodge is located at 142 Seaside Ave.
