Flu fears close Region 10 schools

27-percent of students absent today

Burlington (WTNH) - All four schools in the Region 10 school district will be closed for the rest of week because of an outbreak of the flu.

Region 10 spans the towns of Harwinton and Burlington. The schools include Lake Garda, Harwinton Consolidated, Har-Bur and Lewis Mills.

According to the Region 10 web site, 27-percent of the students in the district were absent from school today.

Health officials have not determined whether or not the students have swine flu (H1N1) or the seasonal flu.
