HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut health officials say none of the patients who may have received injections of medication linked to a deadly meningitis outbreak have reported troubling symptoms.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says Interventional Spine & Sports Medicine in Middlebury is the only medical practice in the state that received the steroids.

The state Department of Public Health says the practice contacted 39 patients who may have received spinal injections of the steroid and none have required evaluation. The health department said it reached 37 of the patients itself.

The practice received doses of the steroid from the New England Compounding Center in Framingham, Mass. Federal health investigators have focused on the specialty pharmacy company as they seek a source of the meningitis outbreak, which has killed five people and sickened 47 others in seven states.
