TORRINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) - Five people, including at least one minor have been arrested following a home burglary in Torrington.
Two suspicious vehicles and four unidentified males were spotted at 80 Workman Avenue.
According to police, two males exited each vehicle and made their way to the rear of the home. A Witness who was inside the home at the time heard a smashing noise. That witness also spoke with a female who was waiting in one of the suspicious vehicles.
Two victims were inside the residence when they heard a knock at the back door, and a door being broken into.
When the initial knock was heard, one of the victims looked out the window and recognized the vehicles from a previous encounter.
When one of the victims was on the phone with police, four male suspects could be seen exiting the home with a flat screen television and laptop. The items were thrown into the vehicles.
One of the suspects grabbed a witness by the shirt and ran off with the phone used to call police.
The phone was recovered the next day in a nearby home.
The vehicles were located by police on Route 8 by exit 39 and Route 6, where they had been stopped by Connecticut State Police.
All five suspects were detained and arrested. They have been brought back to the Torrington Police Department for processing.
