MORRIS, Conn. (WTNH) -- A Jeep crashed into a home on Watertown Road in Morris early Friday, narrowly missing a sleeping homeowner.
The vehicle crashed into the Bennett Family home around 6:15 a.m. Lori Bennett told News 8 the Jeep slammed through the walls of her living room and a bedroom, coming within a foot of her sleeping husband.
"It sounded like a tornado, you know, and then, all of a sudden, a big huge crash," she said. "I mean, I was in shock, obviously. So was my husband and son. I opened the door, the girl was still in her Jeep, she seemed okay."
Bennett said the Jeep traveled 300 to 400 feet after crashing through a steel cable roadside barrier, splitting a narrow gap between two large trees before hitting the house.
The driver, identified as Bryanna Vroom, 26, of Watertown, was given a ticket by police.
Watertown Road is also known as Route 63.
