NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) - The Connecticut Siting Council has approved plans to complete the state's first wind farm.
The plan, which was approved Thursday, calls for BNE Energy to build three wind-powered turbines off Rock Hall Road in Colebrook. The site is less than a mile from where the West Hartford-based company had already been given permission to build its first three turbines.
The approval came over the objections of some local residents who worry the project will be an eyesore.
The six turbines will make up the state's first commercial wind farm with the ability to generate up to 9.6 megawatts of electricity.
