Bethlehem (WTNH) - A 52-year old postal worker has died after high winds caused a tree to fall on her truck.
It happened on Weekeepeemee Road in Bethlehem around 11 a.m.
The woman has been identified as Barbara Satula, a long-time employee of the USPS.
State police and the postal inspectors say her death was an act of nature.
"If she'd been 10 seconds either way, or even 30 seconds, just happened, she happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, unfortunately," said Sgt. Gregory Kenney of the State Police.
"It could've gone one way or another, just a second or two either way and it would've just been a glancing blow and it would never have happened," said Donn Stitt of Bethlehem.
When the tree fell it clipped a power pole and electricity was out for several hours in the area.
Officials are still investigating.
