Lightning blamed for New Milford house fire

NEW MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- There was a 2nd alarm house fire in New Milford on Friday, fire department officials say.

The Fire Marshal deemed that the house at 59 Carmen Hill Road was struck by lightning during the thunderstorms on Friday.

With heavy fire damage to the attic and smoke damage throughout the building, the home was deemed uninhabitable.

There is no word on any injuries at this time.
