BETHLEHEM (AP) - Connecticut state police say a distraught man was rescued from a car after he apparently set it on fire near the Bethlehem Town Hall.
Troopers were called to Main Street for a reported car fire at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday. They say the man inside appeared to have set the fire and warned that he had gasoline containers in the vehicle.
Police are not releasing the man's name, because they say the case was a medical emergency and not a crime.
Firefighters put out the blaze and rescuers pulled the man from the car.
The man was injured and taken to Waterbury Hospital for treatment and evaluation. Police did not release his condition.
