4 injured in five-car pile-up in New Hartford

New Hartford, Conn. (WTNH) - Four people were injured after a five-car crash on Litchfield Turnpike/Route 202 in New Hartford

The accident happened around 1pm, closing Route 202 between Southeast Road & Route 219.

Police tell News 8 that two cars collided head-on and three other cars piled on behind them.

Two Lifestar helicopters were called to the scene to transport the patients.

State police say two of the four people injured are in critical condition.

The scene was cleared by 5pm.
