New Milford (WTNH) - A teenage male was found submerged roughly 20 feet from shore after a 911 call was made that a six-year-old child had fallen into the Housatonic River near Bulls Bridge .
The person that made the 911 call reported that the victim was a 6-year-old male. Rescue teams later determined that the victim was instead 15-year-old Leonardy Adames of Roosevelt, New York.
He was found submerged in 15 feet of water by the Goshen Fire Water Rescue, nearly 90 minutes after the 911 call was made.
Adames was transported to New Milford Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
