Accident closes Route 7 in New Milford

NEW MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- Route 7 is closed in both directions in New Milford this morning due to a car crash into a utility pole. 

Police say the accident happened at 2:33 a.m. in front of the Willow Springs condominiums. 

The driver has been taken to Danbury Hospital.  The extent of their injuries is not known. 

246 CL&P customers were without power due to the accident. Power was restored around 10:45 a.m.

There is no estimate how long the road will be closed.
